Creating a brighter future for everyone!

Stephen Holbrook "The light in the darkness" by James Christie

An interesting read from the point of view of someone obviously in the know about other esoteric subjects, as well as spiritualism. The style is chatty and wavers between discussing certain aspects of Mr Holbrook's career as well as his origins as a medium.

For the beginner to spiritualism there is a wealth of information about the subtle differences between clairvoyance and psychism, also detailed accounts from audience participants who have received messages at an evening of clairvoyance with Mr Holbrook.

If you thought it was all darkened rooms and ladies holding hands around a table then you are in for a bit of reality. The chapter dealing with a couple who lost their young son is a heart-rending, and all too familiar story. When you read something like this and the benefit that the family gained from their contact through messages given, I don't understand how anyone could refute the good that comes from the release of pent up grief, the obvious relief, marking the beginning of the healing journey for the individuals concerned.

As a medium in training, it was priceless to get a glimpse of the inner workings of a popular professional medium. I haven't read any other work by the author but if he were to write an autobiography, I'd definitely want a copy.
