Devils and Demonology in the 21st Century by Katie Boyd
Born in New Hampshire and exposed to the influence of spirits from an early age, Katie Boyd has a wealth of knowledge to share in her healthy resource guide. If you are interested in joining or starting your own paranormal research group, then this is a great introductory tome. Boyd tells it like it is, presenting her thoughts and opinions with no frills or exaggerations but sensible cautions and sound advice.
Devils and Demonology in the 21st Century briefly covers subjects such as dealing with demonic possession and attack, exorcism, ouija boards, history of occultism, and presents some of the mental health issues that could be misconstrued as being spirit attachments.
The chapter on negative thought forms succinctly delivers the author's tried and tested check list for recognizing and clearing personal and externally projected thought forms. Also the chapter on death and exorcism reflects the horror lurking within the recesses of the human psyche, and as such I felt that it could have led on to a much deeper discussion concerning the darker aspect of the Self.
Unlike the stereotypical grandstanding that seems to have become commonplace in the media regarding subjects like spirit release, Boyd approaches her field with a down to earth and sensible attitude. Successfully delivering related psychological material and providing enough information to act as a springboard, or catalyst for the beginner to the field of occultism.
