Controller and the controlled.

Ego is a manifestation of sum total,

quintessence of all past experiences.Dreams are the result of the unlived

experiences of the past.Thom Gunn says we control the dreams.Who is the

controller? One thought assumes the

role of the controller and tries to control the rest of the mind which it labels as

the controlled.But the fact is that both the

controller and controlled are progeny of the past,both are conditioned

entities.They function according to their programming.When one part of the

conditioned mind tries to control the other part of the conditioned mind there

perpetual

conflict in the mind.Thought i.e mind is limited and so its perception and action

are also limited thus leaving a residue of nonunderstanding.So one part of the

mind cannot control the remaining part.When we pay complete attention to

anything there is stilling of thought.In the passive awareness of the still

mind,the ego,the main problem of humanity tells its

story in detail.

So on the psychological plane,nondoing with passive awareness results in

complete action,here action means perception,in which there is no residue of

nonunderstanding of the problem,we will perceive the whole network of the

problem comprehensively.This type of passive awareness

controls our mind.One part of mind can never be able to control the rest of

the mind.
